I'd really interested in learning about the SSG as he fills us in.
They must have changed it. It used to be Surveillance Support Group. They were used to follow foreign nationals around and for other non-law enforcement related surveillances. Of course, that was back when the cold war was still going on and the Russkies were not our good friends. Back them, none of them were sworn law enforcement. Their mission has probably changed somewhat post 9-11.

But, like I said, that was back in the eighties.

March 21, wow, they give you a lot of time to get ready to go don't they

Is that like the Support Services Tech's or Investigative Support Specialists?

So is it like an entry level job in the FBI, or is it a job that people make a career out of?

For me it will be a career, I am 38 retired on disability from a Police Dept so its as close to LEO as I can get. Being on disability I cannot be a LEO. So hopefully it will fill a void. Being a x-LEO I am an outcast in society anyway. So I might as well hide all day.

An outcast? Nah, i dont think so. So they basically do surviellence on suspected criminals? Sounds kinda fun. By the way, congradulations. Probably should have said that earlier but.........well, i goofed.

Hey hey now, what's wrong with being an ex-LEO? We aren't outcasts (well, maybe...). ;)

Seriously, the SSG sounds like a cool job. What job series is that anyway, 0132? OPSEC allowing, keep up posted on training & the job & stuff. Congrats again!

No, not back then they weren't. Back then, they were a dedicated surveillance team that was used to conduct surveillance on non-criminal targets, i.e. foreign counter-intelligence subjects.
