Where is the test and which agency is sponsoring the TEA?

I took one several years ago, Ironically it didn't get me into Federal service, I had to go another way. Good luck with yours, they really aren't THAT hard.
I am a Paladin, like the warriors of old, ready to stand on the line to keep others safe... A Sheep Dog, ready to protect the herd from advancing wolves!
The math sucks, or it did on the ATF sponsored test.

The math is pretty hard, i have been studying like I said. I will keep everyone posted on how I do, they grade the test right after you finish, so if i pass there is an interview right then and there. It could be one long day!
I'm assuming your talking about the initial interview with the SAIC, and not the panel interview. The SAIC interview is very short and to the point, so it won't take long at all.Originally Posted by paul56

My new hero!
Usually you have the initial interview first, then the TEA, then the panel. But I guess the process is not set in stone.
The TEA study guides available in book stores are pretty good & similar to the actual test. The math is only hard because it is timed. I'd say it's about high school level math; ALL word problems--no algebraic equations or anything. Forget about trying to do all the math questions because it's nearly impossible. Just do what questions you can & guess the ones you don't get to. Remember there is no penalty for guessing.
The following is just general test taking tips (I'm basically a test taking professional at this point: legacy US Customs, TEA, LSAT (that was hard), IEA, USPP, POST, ASVAB, California POST, etc.):
I'd layer because it's hard to concentrate in a cold room. Bring a quiet watch w/ a timer. Pick a spot where the light is the best & eat a good (but not a heavy) breakfast. Use the head before the test that way you won't have to go during (I can't remember if they give you breaks). Get a good nights's sleep because it'll be a LONG day. Good luck!
