We send to Von Kisehuf(sp) in Indiana. I was the last to be sent to Texas. We are trying to set up our own training program here.

Requirements: Some Canine history, does not have to be as handler! My Lt looks for someone who is a team player, needs little supervision, and can be low profile. We are given more leeway than the operations personeel, and he likes to know he will get no surpises. Other than that, a basic understanding on what makes a dog tick.

Two openings for sure, however, the LT may try to push for more.

I'm sure the big thing is whether or not you could recognize an alert. Though I'm not sure how you could ascertain that during the app. process!

There more to it than that, not how to recognize it, but why is happens, Read up on thresholds, approximation and how climate effects detection to begin with. (damn, now my brain hurts!!!! ) As for moving up, yes, we move people up from operations all he time. Our current problem is such a lack of reasonable people. Lots of one man armies, very few team players!

Haven't heard those terms in a while. Don't forget the good 'ole scent cones, leash control, turbinates, quartering, point to points, training aids, did I mention leash control already (I can't get that out of my head)?? :eek:

Sad to hear you don't have many team players. Sounds like you could use "a few good men!" If I get past the BI stage & get hired already; hopefully I can contribute...
