    Red face Potential SSG Training

Got a call this morning. Just needed more information, again. Information was provided right away... not a big deal. I asked my AC what the timeline was and she advised me that she believes the next class will be in March. Hopefull we will all be there. Just thought I would pass that along.

Ladibug... how long is your training supposed to be... I think the SSG training is 6 weeks. I figure if you start on 2/22...then our training must follow yours. Maybe that would give me an idea of when we could possibly start. CMRAS... hang in there... I haven't gotten my final call yet either.. just always wanting more information. Although my AC felt that I would get a slot in the March class... I can't remember when I applied but I interviewed in February 04. So it has been a long haul. Maybe we will train together...

nwndrlnd. I also interviewed in Feb 04, yes it has been a long haul. Yes trining is 6 weeks. Your start date doesnt have to be the training date. Usually you will start and training will follow a week or 2 later. Paperwork etc. needs to be done before you go to training.

Oh...thanks for the info... I didn't know if Ladibug would train with the SSG.. she is an operations specialist... but here's to hoping that we will all be there in march... Although I do hope it isn't the 1st week of march... spring training... although I would report for training over baseball... but sure would be nice to get in that vacation. Let me know if you get a call or confirmation fo the training date.

Anyone else heard anything? I am not sure if I would train with SSG or not, have heard the beginning format training to the agency is the same so possibly for a little while at least... who knows. Like I said... I got my call and start date, still waiting on the paperwork from DC. They said it would be sent after DC was made aware of my definite start date.... WOOOHOOOOO I am so excited. Took a long time. Applied in like 2 or 3/04 and got interview 6/04 another 7/04 and a couple more 8/04 along withh all sorts of testing, was told I was top pick, started background.... found out I got it and start date 1/24. This was a dream since 9th grade.... 13 -14 years later it is finally coming true!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO And after 5 years of applying. So to all of you that have not heard anything yet or are losing hope, don't give up!!!!!

That is just about all the field offices. From the information I have been given over time and not in a direct way...only the largest cities actually have and IS or SSG unit. I was told directly that Charlotte, NC does not have one, Jacksonville, FL does not have one and that Columbia, SC does not have one. They may have one SSG in each office but I have been told that only the big cities have an actual unit. But Thanks for the information.

Maybe the vacancy announcement on the website is for a solo IS to move to Charlotte, NC. Announcement # is 05-2005-0055. The announcement is advertised for GS 9/11 so maybe they want one relatively senior IS (non-supervisory senior) to be stationed there. Who knows.

I was told that Charlotte was a main place for hiring at this time, along with Atlanta, Portland, Texas and Alabama.
