It depends on your age and sex. Agencies such as USMS have mandatory requirements that you score a certain percentage (some agencies up to 40%). Check the FLETC website and do a search in google and type "FLETC PEB scores" (Physical Efficiency Battery). It consists of a sit and reach, Illinois agility, bech press, and 1.5 mile run. There are charts all over the FLETC PTD complex (physical techniques division) that have the times under corresponding scores/percentages for your age range...

Lately, they have not been that good. I fit test new applicants in my area and they seem more infatuated with the minimum requirements over getting superior (which was the norm when I went through).

....and we had to walk barefoot through snow...

(ok.. the snow part was a joke) :D

Hit the Fit requirements on the USMS webpage and look at the "Good" category for your age group.

Well, if he is interested in the USMS, there are different standards. You need to meet the USMS standards to make it to FLETC. They are different.

I did a mile and half in 36 min., and 10 pushups (female style), and drank six pitchers of beer in 3 hours. Then I swam the duck pond twice while naked and drunk then ran from base security for three blocks before being tackled by four people. All in all it was a good training environment.

Ya, I heard about the gator thing but we had a graduation party at the duck pond and our PT instructor was there with us (after the keg stands) and had the balls to say that because he was an Army Ranger he could beat any of us. I advised him he was sorely mistaken and that Army men drown in water. Well, it came down to it and I wooped his A$$ in swimming underwater accross the pond. I only came up for breath once in the middle and he had to come up like three times. Then FLETC-Five '0 showed up all ticked off saying crap like "you can't swim in there" and I said "what? are you blind? I just did" then they started talking about "...coming with me..." and I advised them no, that I was pretty much done for the night and was going to my dorm. Then they said no I wasn't and I said watch me and ... well it got kinda ugly but looking back it was rather fun. Everyone had a good time that night, well, except FLETC-0!

There is no USMS chart per se, rather some agencies require you to have a higher percentage. The one chart, which is set up by age group and sex for ALL FLETC students is all over the PTD complex. Some agencies are participation only (and it shows), while others, such as NCIS require you score at least 25% in each category of the PEB.....

And of the topic, I can't believe anyone would swim in the pond. With all the geese out there, i'd think it was full of geese s$&^....

My foul..I stand corrected for USMS. I guess they are one of the few that has their own set of standards (others use the FLETC one which has a percentage, rather than good, fair, minimum, etc.). In my CITP class there weren't any USMS 1811's....

    Thanks for correcting my mistake

For the pushups/situps, are those the numbers that people can or should be able to do in one minute, or just in a row?
