    Irs Sa

    Hey-
I was wondering if anyone here knows of anyone that uses this site that is or was a IRS special agent. If so- who would they be? Or does anyone have any info on that position-
I also know that the IRS runs a intern position which I would like to learn more about.

Currently I have a BA and I am working on my MBA in fraud managament.

    Thanks

I don't know of any personally or currently, but I met a few of them a number of times while serving as an intern with USSS. I thought about applying with them, a good outfit for financial related crimes, but they have a certain number of hours of accounting courses required for their SA positions (I have no accounting background :( ). Start by learning more about them from there website (click here) if you haven't already. Not sure what your BA is in, but if your Fraud Management MBA is heavily based in accounting, it would probably serve you well in applying with them. Seek an internship while in grad school if you can, and also look to see if there is a chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in your area. A lot of CFEs are federal agents that work fraud cases with USSS, FBI, IRS, OIGs, etc.

Thanks for the quick response. I actually have a BA in sociology- right now i actually do child welfare investigations--SO that has nothing to do with the acc.
BUT the MBA in fraud management is mostly accounting and the such. I have applied for the CFE student membership and really need to start studying to take that exam. It is tough- 10.5 hours total.
I am really interested in an internship and I need to find out more info on that.
    Thanks for the quick reply.
