Kind of dumb FBI question.

In this new age of terrorism, does the FBI still investigate Federal Civil Rights violations? If they do, I think I am going to try and get vic hill indicted on these charges. That would automaticly remove him from office. My research has found this.

§ 2000e-2. Unlawful employment practices
(a) Employer practices
It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer -
(1) to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin; or
(2) to limit, segregate, or classify his employees or applicants for employment in any way which would deprive or tend to deprive any individual of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect his status as an employee, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
(b) Employment agency practices
It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employment agency to fail or refuse to refer for employment, or otherwise to discriminate against, any individual because of his race, color, religion, sex, or national origin, or to classify or refer for employment any individual on the basis of his race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

Going back to your origional post. Have you had any luck with the County Board since if the Sheriff violated any county regulations he can be removed from office there also.

I say if you really want to get him out.. Organize the county citizens to keep calling their County Commissioner and pursue all legal aspects. Also remember the media is your friend and can really do a great job of getting your view out into the public.

Find a person who is very good at interview and can make articulated statements that will draw in the public and you'll be on your way.

In my opinion, the FBI would not touch that issue with a 10 foot pole.

The FBI is really the only agency which handles such cases. The interesting thing is this. If they receive an allegation, they must investigate it. They do not have the option of not investigating the case as they would with other violations.

Doesn't mean you will get the result you want, it just means they will take a look and see if it meets the elements of the law. As far as touching it with a ten foot pole, well they have to. The good thing about it to them is that they will forward the information to the US Attorney's Office and the onus will hang on them not the FBI.
