My favorite relic is the 386 laptop that I found recently. I asked if we had any extra laptops and someone pointed me at a shelf that had this on it. I told them I didn't think it was very smart to be handling a valuable artifact like this as it should be sent to the Smithsonium as soon as possible. :D

We just switched out our Pentium 100/Windows 95 computers for a Windows XP system. They actually sent us to an all day class on how to use Windows XP, completely oblivious to the fact that 98 per cent of us have that as our operating system at home.

Ya, we just went to the newest computers on the market, the Dell with Windows 2000 on it. Wooo hoooo, I hope they didn't pay a lot for them becuase they work worse than the NT versions we used to have. At least we have flat LCD screens now.

I hear ya! Avoid the "D" cities including Denver! I know an FPO that was in Detroit and went to Denver - chilling stories.

We had that same class... finally! We are using outlook... it beats the crap out of Groupwise. It was a 16 bit doos program, older than many who browse RP! LOL

A good Captain but a lot of incompetence with Officers. Plus, a Mega Center is there and that is a real charlie foxtrot! Please don't get me wrong, not all the Officers there are bad, just the few that spoil it for the rest. I think I am just going on my past experiences with Denver - it has been a few years since I was there so things may have changed for the better. A lot of problems arise with the contracted guards.

If we're talking FPS, they're recruiting now in Denver.

I just told my Husband about Denver...he said "NO thanks!" We're pretty happy with FPS here in southern TX. I heard a few FPO's bailed on Denver not too long ago and went to different regions. Guess you got politics where ever you go, right?

I've been gone a while. You new guys seem to be posting about computers, right? I started with typewriters - you know, the ones you see in museums! And, while it's not true my first issue weapon was a rock, I was carrying a BRT (Big Round Thing = Revolver) years before some of you were born! And I was issued a sap when I started!
In fact, I was the first person in my office to buy body armor - 10 years before they issued it. Our radios had tubes - ah, I can't explain those to you "kids".
