    Relocation package question

I am currently in an investigative position in a state police agency looking into federal employment. I know that the Postal Ins. Srvc. has a great relocation package for new inspectors. Does anyone know if any of the other agencies have similar benefits? (for example: paying for the move of furniture; paying for closing costs and real estate commissions; etc.)

    Thanks in advance. . .

    Re-Lo Costs

Many Federal agencies have an excellent Relocation Package for newly hired employees. It will depnd on the agency. Some agencies do not give re-lo for newly hired employees, or may give partial re-lo, moving and per diem only, etc.

If you are hired with an agency. check with personnel to find out the extent of the re-lo and what is being offered

INS has no relocation program for new hires. The cost of reporting to your duty station and the move required is out of your pocket.

Thanks for the info. My main reason for wanting to obtain some of these specifics is that it will make a huge difference in whether or not I even apply for a specific agency. The Postal Insp. Srvc. is far and away the most attractive in terms of the re-lo package- that I have been able to find out.

    Thanks. . .
