    Does anyone know what the new integrated Customs and Immigration training at FLETC is like? Is it similar to old programs, what are the physical requirements, etc..

    CUSTOMS AND BORDER PROTECTION INTEGRATED TRAINING PROGRAM (CBPI)

    Program Description: This training program replaces the Immigration and Naturalization Service Integrated Training Program (INSI) and the United States Customs Service Integrated Training Program (USCSI). Through this program, new Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Inspectors are trained in basic law enforcement skills, including: Anti-Terrorism; Detection of Contraband; Interviewing; Cross-Cultural Communication; Firearms Handling and Qualification, Immigration and Naturalization laws; U. S. Customs Export and Import laws; Defensive Tactics; Arrest Techniques; Baton Techniques; Examination of Cargo, Bags and Merchandise; Border Search Exception; Entry and Control Procedures; Passenger Processing; and Officer Safety and Survival.

    Length of Training: 71 Training Days

    Prerequisites for Attendance: Enrollment nominations for the CBPI must be submitted in accordance with DHS/BTS/CBP policies. The DHS establishes its own employment standards for the Inspectors, and all attendees must meet the DHS recruitment standards and the FLETC’s Practical Exercise Performance Requirements for the CBPI PRIOR TO ARRIVING FOR THE TRAINING PROGRAM.

    IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT DETENTION INTEGRATED (ICED)

    Program Description: This training program replaces the Immigration and Naturalization Service Detention Integrated Training Program (INSDI). Through this program, new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Detention Officers receive training in basic law enforcement subjects, including: Immigration and Naturalization laws; Detention Procedures; Fingerprinting; Detection and Discovery of Contraband; Interviewing; Cross-Cultural Communications; Defensive Tactics; Arrest Techniques; Baton Techniques; Officer Liability; Firearms Handling and Qualification; and Driver Techniques.

    Length of Training: 39 class days

    Prerequisites for Attendance: Enrollment nominations for the ICED must be submitted in accordance with DHS/BTS/ICE policies. The DHS establishes its own employment standards for the Detention Officers, and all attendees must meet the DHS recruitment standards and the FLETC’s Practical Exercise Performance Requirements for the ICED PRIOR TO ARRIVING FOR THE TRAINING
