    FBI (Oh My)

I still cannot get over the fact that I am still waiting for the FBI to get back to me on the IS or SSG position. I completed the process July 9th, the medical. I cannot figure out what they are doing. This is extremely frustrating and I feel like my life has been put on hold. I see IA people going through the complete process in 6-10 months. What is thye difference between the IS/SSG process and the IA process. I have been in the process since May 2003.

Welcome to the Federal Government. They don't set any land speed records.

I applied for a job with Immigration, passed the test and told I would be notified for an interview. 2 years later I got my letter but I already took another job with the G.

My guess is they're probably having budget issues. FY 2005 is still waiting in the wings for the ENTIRE Federal govt. For the G, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, I'd call your point of contact, the Field Office you panel interviewed from, or anybody at the FBI you can get a hold of. Keep bothering somebody until they tell you otherwise. Since the SSG & the IA jobs are both support positions, they should be similarly funded & I would have no idea what the hold up would be. Definitely don't put your life on hold for this or ANY Fed job. Continue living indifferently to the application process, otherwise you'll end up like me sprinting to the phone everytime it rings (star 69 can be your best friend & worst enemy) or waiting by your box everyday for your postal carrier to show with your mail...oh wait--am I the only one that does that? :D
