Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone has ever applied to the State Department for Diplomatic Security Special Agent? If so does anyone know what they look for in a candidate? What the interview process is like? Or anything else that would be helpful.

They look for life experience, and mental stability. Foreign language is a huge plus. You need to be stable because you WILL be posted overseas for years at a time and WILL travel. I dunno if links are allowed, but try this forum:

Been through it and on teh ready to hire list. The interview phase is intense. And they do the written and interview all in teh same day. The good part is they tell you if you pass right away or not. You have to call and get your rank in about 3 weeks. The list is a rolling list for 24 months and the bad part is they hire 2x a year...on average 30 canidates each. So if you are not in the top 60.....it might be a waste.
