Can you give me some more information about ICE? I have been looking into that agency, but very little information is available. From what I understand, it is the reorginization of immigration and customs into one big enforcement agency.

Yup, that's it (feels funny to work most of your adult life for an agency that dates to 1789, and no longer exists!). My sources say that there is more than the usual confusion, and that the INS guys are picking up Customs laws faster than the Customs guys are learning INS laws.
I retired in '97, well before ICE was formed, so I can't help you with up-to-date info. Call an office, ask for a recruiter, and ask. (Or, see if you can talk to a duty agent with a few moments to spare).

Out of all the Federal Jobs that I have researched so far I think, BY FAR, Switch has one of the coolest.

Also Federal Air Marshals and the Federal Protective Service is also lumped under the ICE umbrella.

Switch; if you get tired of the long hours and want an extended vacation, transfer to the 8th circuit. they work about 30 hours a week! (just kidding) Sleuth, do you know if Customs 1811's train a FLETC? I'm curious to konw since I'm waiting for a call up for a CBP officer and I saw that you can now take FLETC courses on-line, including the criminal investigator course. just trying to think a few years ahead.

Yes, Customs 1811's get to visit Club Fed in Glynco. As far as taking courses over the net, I wonder how you could take PT and Firearms (not to mention the driving courses) on a computer. There are some things that still need to be done, not simulated.
Now clases like report writing, law, etc., those could be done on a keyboard.
    Good luck!
