I am reading a book on Robert Hannsen and it mentions a group called the "black bag crew." From my readings, these folks seem to be the ones that do covert entries, place microphones, and conduct covert searches.

My question is are these folks agents or support personnel?

This is the kind of thing you will find out when you go to work for a LE agency. Until then, there is not really much justification for putting this kind of information out in the public. I don't mean to be harsh, but you ask a lot of questions that responsible LEO's are just not going to answer, especially on a public internet forum.

There is a reason you are not going to find out information beyond what is published in books about cases. I hope, if you are interested in applying for law enforcement work, that you can appreciate that.

Black Bag crews do not exist. They are just made up by writers w/imaginations.
