Since the FBI Investigative Specialist/SSG position is considered a "covert" position. What can or should tell family, acquaintances, and friends what one does for a living?
Thanks

Tell 'em you work for Jiffy Lube
What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?
Just tell them you work for the FbI. If you want to know more you just tell them you can't talk about it.
I've told people I was the trash man. :D
How come your house has wheels and your car doesn't?
whatever you do, just don't use the Tom Cruise line from "Top Gun"
Are you one yet. A SSG.
If he was, I would hope he would know what to say. ;)
I would think they would cover that somewhere in training.

They actually cover such things in training. I am not personally involved, but I have had connections with those sorts of people in the past =) In other words, don't worry about it.
