    Letters of recommendation and applying

It's almost that time that I'm going to start applying for FLE positions. Should I include letters of recommendation with my application? Do they have any effect on the hiring process? Should I or am I suppose to include my performance evaluation as a CO-OP?

I currently have two positions in DHS (one paid, one voluntary). I know that if it would help the process I could get letters of reccomendation.

    Anyone have any input?

    Thanks

Some agencies will ask for them while others want a few character letters. Another thing that most applicants don’t include is a thank you letter for the recruiter. It is hard to say if the letters of recommendation make an impact or not. Some agencies get so busy with applicants that they don’t have the time or make time to read them. If people are willing to write them for you then get as many as possible and include them in your package.

I have only had one dept. request recommendation letters. When I send in a background packet I always include a copy of recommendation letters, along with my resume even if they dont request it. I dunno if it they look at them but it cant help.

They would not help in the begining of the proses but may come into play in the background. I would hold on to them until they start asking for that kind of stuff. At this point they could only clutter your application.
