"These are the times that try mens' souls..."

Black day for ole tunlrat. Two DQs in one day. Actually it wasn't supposed to be in one day thanks to the USPS. Secret Service SA & USCP both decided to take a pass. The SS supposedly sent the DQ letter last September! I only found out today after calling the Los Angeles FO. USCP supposedly sent a letter last January & again, I didn't find out until today when I called Recruiting. Those weren't the only "eggs in my basket" so to say but 2 in one day!? I ain't giving up just yet on the Fed LE search but GEEZ!

Word to the wise, be aggressive when you don't hear anything in a while. That "no news is good news" isn't always true.

Negative, the LA FO has a copy of my "elusive" DQ letter but I still don't. I'll request a copy soon. I suspect it's the lack of any "critical" skills, other than LE exp.

What do you mean by critical skills?

I wouldn't sweat it too much. USSS SA and USCP are both hiring less right now than in the past. Both agencies had a big hiring push last year if I recall and they are are hiring much less numbers now. Just something to keep in mind ;)

    logan32,
"Critical skills" is a term I took from FBI applicants. They generally mean language proficiency, computer skills, accounting experience, Military/ SpecOps stuff--generally things I don't have but wish I did. These guys/gals are in high demand, but guys like me with only "general" (LE--patrol) experience apparently are not. They reminded me of this during my USSS panel interview. Good luck on your quest...

Hey thanks for the explanation. I should be pretty good on that end I have like 10 years accounting experience so maybe that will work in my favor. Sorry just thinking out loud. Thank you for the explanation. I hope things start to look up for you.
