Are you currently an FBI IS folk?
No, but I talk to them periodically. The first reply was not flippant, but was descriptive. Nuff said.Originally Posted by unidos
Are there any positive remarks the folks that you have talk to aobut the job. More in the sense to why they like it or dislike it, is it interesting, etc.
I have heard comments like one will "sit and rot" in a car for most of the time.
I am going through the process right now and am looking for any input on the position.
Thanks

When will you be going to work for the FBI IS.
Hey Unidos,
An IS is a good job. Can't say too much about it, but it is the best support job in the Bureau.
funny how everybody who has posted here trying to give advise has less than 50 posts.

Can you say why people either like or dislike the job?
I know because of opsec one can't go into detail about specifics regarding duties, but what would a day be like?
Is the job interesting, challenging, etc.
I am also in the SA process and I think both offers (when/if come) will be around the same time so when decision time comes it is going to be a difficult one.
Thanks
Well greenlead, that is how we get to 703 posts like you. By the way, "Advise" is spelled "Advice" :rolleyes:Originally Posted by greenlead
Unidos, I am also in the application process for that position. The only information I have found is what is listed on the FBI Vacancies page. (Which to my surprise is no longer there.)
I did however find this:FBI Careers Handbook @ Barnes and Noble..
It's basically a guide to the FBI and their procedures. The book has "3" pages dedicated to the "Investigative Specialist" position. Barnes and Noble allows you to read a book prior to buying it. I suggest not buying the book and just reading it over, over a cup of coffee @ Barnes and Noble. :D
Hey greenlead, I guess some of us have more to do than sit on this website all day. Maybe???
There are a lot of post on the 911jobforums site about this job. From what I have been told and read the Investigation specialist job is ok, its the surveillance specialist job the realy sucks.
