    Question FBI SSG Training

Does anyone know what the training is like for an SSG position with the FBI? I know it is supposed to be 5 weeks at the academy, but does anyone know what is taught in those 5 weeks? firearms? self defense? pt?

    Thanks

Not sure of the specifics and it's most likely classified anyhow... but that said, SSG does not carry a gun... chances are you'll get a bullet proof vest, in case someone shoots at you, but forget defending yourself against with a firearm. So, my guess is there will be no firearms training. I also doubt you will be doing any PT, but that's a nice thought, to bad SSG does not give their employees time to workout, as is done with SA's. Again, you'll get a bulletproof vest... ahhh live is good for FBI support employees.

There is no firearms training. You will get training on surveillance techniques mostly, including using cameras/video cameras. You will also get some training in defensive driving/following, which is not even offered to the new agents anymore.

Is the training at Q or not. Is it 5 or 6 weeks. I have heard both.

Yeah, it is at Quantico. Last I heard was 5 weeks, but they may be making it 6, I don't know. They are making the analyst training 7 weeks now instead of 6, so they may be changing the SSG training, too.
