    Tattoos......

    Hey all,
I'm a Marine interested in one day going into some sort of Federal Law Enforcement Position (hopefully the SS). My question to anybody out there who might be in that field or is currently in the hiring process is about tattoos. Or in my case singular, one tattoo. Like many Marines out there not long after i got out of bootcamp i got "USMC" tattooed down the back of my upper arm. It runs length wise andthe C sticks out when wearing the Charlie uniform to give you an idea. My question is will this DQ me because it is barely visible or is there some leeway in that sense. It is obviously not offensive but i have heard diff things about tattoos and their acceptance. If anybody out there could give me some advice or knows anything about this subject i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for the replies~pgascoig

What is a Charlie Uniform? Short Sleeved? I know some LE with Tatoos though I cannot tell you when they required them. I always thought that Federal didn't want any body markings but I heard that along time ago. Sure the DEA wouldn't mind. LOL

Hopefully some of our officers here can help you.

It shouldn't be a problem. There are plenty of ex-military with plenty of tattoos in the fed le... with the tatts being both military and non-military. Just don't go and get any sleeves.
