What I have done since I was 17 and preparing to go into the military, RUN. 27 years later I am still at it. Last year I got 325 miles in and I am ahead of schedule this year.
As long as you do SOMETHING to keep in shape, it is good. Running, weight training, swimming, aerobics etc. Do something. As you get older , your body tends to slack off and so will your abilitites. The bad guys keep coming back younger and younger and don't respect the uniform.
99% of the time it is your brain that you will need, but the other 1% that you will need your physical abilities are the times that you REALLY need to be prepared for.

I was thinking of running my first marathon, the marine corps marathon in october, I know I must start running everyday starting six months out!
I work all day long, go to school at night, and keep care of a house, and run my *** off taking care of stuff my next ex husband should be doing. ;) I run all day long and fall into bed each night. That is how I stay in shape...I watch what I eat and how much I eat and run from thing to thing. I rarely get a free moment. That is how I stay in shape.![]()
If im not at the gym I try and do light excersizes at home like pullups, pushups, situps, and curls, nothing too crazy just keep the muscles going.

I usually get pretty tired by playing XBox, watching those little pixels play football is one helluva work out! Whew, I'm done for the day from just typing on this forum.
