    What are my chances??

I am very intersted in seeking a position as a SA with ICE or USSS. I was looking for a little input as to my chances of securing a position. Here is a brief summary of resume.

I am currently employed by DHS / CIS as a CO-OP student trainee. This position is considered a permament federal position (GS-0399-04). I was originally interviewed for a position in INS investigations, but due to the split I was pushed off into CIS.

I am college student pursuing a B.S. in CJ with a Computer Science minor. I might drop the minor to graduate earlier (anticipated May 2005).
3.2 GPA / 3.6 in upper level classes

The newest addition is an internship position with ICE, which the SSA stated is "highly competitive". I will be working at CIS and ICE the same time.

I am currently going through my second background for security clearence.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

Does anyone know anything about the Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) and non-competitive conversion? I am in the SCEP as a co-op student employee, but the office that I work for Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) will only help me with converting to a core position in CIS. According to OPM's website I am eligible for non-competitive conversion into any federal agency. Does anyone know if any agency's will pick up students that work for a different agency. Do I need to talk to a recruiter? Any ideas would be helpful.

    Spud161,

The information you have given appears that your chances are extremely good. Honestly, the most important issue is that you are already working with in the Federal system along and near law enforcement personnel. If that is your desired goal, the prospects are very good. Your basic background is good, but is very standard amongst many other applicants. So take advantage of the fact that you are already in the system and go for it. Good Luck!
