FPS-Job Offer (LESO)

I recieved a temp job offer on Jan 18 2012 and looking to know what the current process is. What is the timeline for the BI and whats included in the BI? How is FLETC? I did read the opening post about their experience but that was posted in 2008. What can I expect at FLETC now and has it changed since 2008? I have been out of the military for 7 years and have never worked in law enforcement. I do have my Bachelors in CJ and currently working towards my Master's in CJ. I am a bit nervous as to what to expect. Does anyone here work in the Phoenix office? This is the location I picked at the time of my interview. Thanks for any help that you can give.

Yes, Motorolanut has been very helpful. You should PM him. Did you go to the Veterans Job Fair in DC or did you apply through USA JOBS. I went to a job fair and was offered the position. They were in need of minority women and I guess I fit the bill. LOL, Law enforcement is my dream career field and I cant wait until everything is completed and I start work professionally. Oh, I recieve a call a week ago from a Mr. Thompson who confirmed everything with me and briefly went over the process. I am still waiting on the email to start the E-qip BI paperwork and my scheduled appointments.

Actually she is still processing thru. BUT the reason I said this is FPS has not actively initiated any hiring drives since 2008, the current FPS Veterans hiring initiative is a small boost for agency since we never did meet our congresional mandate of personnel.

We seem to loose them quicker than we can hire them. Which is really attributed to two things:

#1 Serious misconceptions of the Job.
#2 No 6C or 12D Leo retirement for Inspectors ever.

If I remember correctly FPS Inspectors and the FEMA Police are the only two DHS Gun Toters without Leo Retirement. Very Sad.....But no one cares about FPS, we are and always have been a fee for service (non appropriated agency) bastard redheaded stepchildren.

Most likely we will get the rest of our Inspector personnel numbers from absorbing at least three different Leo 0083 agencies once their law enforcement delegations expire.

Provided the recent rumors of our agency being disbanded soon don't come true..LMMFAO

I always thought it was so stupid that you guys arent covered. Anyone who goes to an academy, is sworn, carries a firearm, and has arrest authority should be covered IMO. But then again nothing the govt does surprises me!
