Ok, i've been looking for something online for a little while, and can't find anything in particular that I'm looking for.

I have an AR-15 for work. I keep 7 loaded magazines in my car. Problem is, if sh1t ever hit the fan (such as it did in Orlando, close by, a couple weeks ago), and I was dispatched to an active shooter situation, I would probably only be able to carry one in my back pocket, and two on a mag coupler, loaded into the rifle.

What I am looking for, is a holster that will hold at least four, if not all 7 or 8 magazines, that I can take out of my trunk and either quickly attach to my leg, around my waist, or over the shoulder, and go. I saw some of the MOLE setups that go around the leg, and attach over a belt. Problem is, I don't want to be trying to loop the b@stard around my gun belt while trying to haul ass into a building. Too cumbersome and time consuming.

Do any of you guys have suggestions? I can't find anything online.

The bad economy finally caught up with me

Well the bad economy has caught up with me and I’ve now been laid off from my second career as a Code Enforcement Officer. After weighing my options, I’ve decided that the only right move is to go back to school and finish my degree. My dilemma is that the degree I started over 20 years, and another life ago was Criminal Justice. Knowing that I’ll never be a cop again, I’m not sure if want to go thought another two years of school to finish an education that I most likely will not find work in. Other than teaching, I can’t think of much that I could now do with that degree in the civilian world. I know that any degree is better than no degree, so I’m trying to look toward the future. I really don’t have any career interest other than law enforcement, so I’m trying to get ideas about civilian careers where a CJ degree and a law enforcement background could be marketable. Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

One thing that I’ve found on my own that might be interesting is that the University of Phoenix offers an on-line degree in Organizational Security Management. If anyone has any information on this program or career field, I’d like to get your feedback too. From what I’ve been told by the University of Phoenix a lot of my CJ credits can be transferred toward this degree, and from what I’ve read it could be an interesting new career. I just don’t know much about it.

Boot Suggestions

Howdy all,

I graduate from the academy on December 10th. I'm in the process of trying to purchase boots but I have absolutely no idea what to get. I need something that will keep my feet warm in the winter but allow me to run well. I went to the supply store but had no idea where to start and didn't have the time to try a bunch of different styles.

Can you guys give me about 2-3 brands to look at?

I'm also considering a Stinger DS LED flashlight for my duty belt. Anyone use one of these and what do you think?

With some of the blunders pulled in the past few weeks, it makes me wonder if some of these commercial pilots aren't using drugs.
When a commercial plane overflies it's destination by 150 miles and another lands on a taxiway instead of a runway something just ain't right up front.
Then this nutcase, who tries to run down 2 cops with his private plane then
tries to take off on an empty tank.
The only good thing about this case is, that the plane was out of fuel and didn't get airborne and stallout over a school, trailer park or some congested area. Personally, I wouldn't step foot on a plane knowing that the pilots up front lacked good judgment, as was the case in these 3 incidents.

Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I am having a hell of a time finding this holster online and the local police store is out and has no idea when they will get more in. I am needing the model for a 226 with a streamlight tlr-1. If anyone knows of a place that has them in stock I would really appreciate the information.

Thanks in advance.

YES! Last night was my last night of FTO, and tonight I get to hit the road as a full fledged Deputy! I'm pretty excited! Got my real radio number (not my trainee number) put on my car today at the garage and have already been in contact with my district partner who is going to show me the ropes tonight (since I'm going to be in a whole new precinct of the county)!

I'm really jazzed about it and just wanted to share that with everyone!

The only thing that I'm worried about is that I'm switching to midnights, and I've not been able to get a whole bunch of sleep today... Otherwise, totally stoked!

OK, your'e returning after a great weekend at the beach. An out of state tooper stops you for speeding and writes up a citation. Since your're out of state you decide to ignore it and tear the ticket up.
Bad decision, as the ghost of that torn up ticket will follow and haunt you for a very long time and in a myriad of different ways.
It could wreak havoc with your credit rating/score and not only increase your auto and home owners insurance premiums, but would probably turn up when you go to apply for a home or business loan.
The wise thing to do is to settle and pay a speeding ticket right then and there, as it's easier to loose a few hundred bucks than to be labled a poor risk and lose thousands of $$$ in the long run.

I'd like to get your opinions as to how you'd define 'terrorist' or 'terrorism'.

Try telling THIS to a judge.

The aptly named Zachary Duis took an unusual tact trying to dodge a drunk driving bust: telling the cops he gets blotto nightly.

"Dude, I do this every night; I'm straight up and not drunk!," Duis reportedly told police after an Indiana state trooper pulled him over.

After failing field sobriety tests, he was taken to the Portage Police Department where he failed a breathalyzer, registering at four times the legal limit of .08, ChicagoBreakingNews.com reports.

Police reportedly spotted Duis, 24, after a Good Samaritan called to report a pickup truck driving erratically.

Exclusionary Rule

Question pertaining to school.

Does the exclusionary rule to the fourth amendment apply when an arrest warrant was found to lack probable cause? I ask because we are working on case laws (Rice v. State). The officer made an arrest on a warrant that he believed to be valid and found Rice in possession of marijuana and methamphetamines. Now, the original charge from the warrant was dismissed. However, the PCS charge is the question. I believe that Rice will be held accountable for the PCS because the officer was only acting in good faith when he made the arrest. The officers job is not to determine whether or not the warrant holds probable cause. Rice wants the exclusionary rule to be applied to her case because the warrant was invalid, but since the search of her person (after a lawful arrest) supplied the PCS, wouldn't she be responsible for it?

Not a question to answer my school work, asking just for verification. I would like another opinion before I go argue the case in class.

Although I think the beheading should be second on list.

*Saudi court upholds child rapist crucifixion ruling*
Tue Nov 3, 2009 2:22pm

RIYADH (Reuters) - A Saudi court of cassation upheld a ruling to behead and crucify a 22-year-old man convicted of raping five children and leaving one of them to die in the desert, newspapers reported on Tuesday.

The convict was arrested earlier this year after a seven-year old boy helped police in their investigation. The child left in the desert after the rape was three years old, Okaz newspaper said.

International rights groups have accused the kingdom, the birthplace of Islam, of applying draconian justice, beheading murderers, rapists and drug traffickers in public. So far this year about 40 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia.

In Saudi Arabia, crucifixion means tying the body of the convict to wooden beams to be displayed to the public after beheading.

A good day at work

Still popping back and forth when I get a chance, which isn't very often. My new roster sucks and with a toddler, there just is no time left to get online, but I made an exception tonight.

I am spending a week working in what is known as a Shopfront Beat. Just two of us working out of a mall area and the surrounding streets, and all on foot. Well first of all it is damn hot this week, and walking around in that sun is crappy, but it's a good break from the usual domestic violence and mental health jobs.

Anyway, we heard the call go out today that there was a young child went missing. 3 year old had run off from his Mum who also had another young one in a pram. She turned her back for a second and he was gone.

This happened in a shopping centre across the river from our Division, but we could hear patrols heading there from everywhere. It is a BIG shopping centre with a massive underground car park and three seperate shopping areas connected by walkways and a million different places a kid could hide. Not to mention the nearby river which if the boy had got through a couple of the barriers and made his way down to the river, it would have been a very BAD ending to the day. VERY BAD. By the time the call went out, the boy had been gone for about 20 minutes.

We thought "stuff it. Let's go." A quick run across the town bridge (a distance of about a mile) and we were in the shops. When we got there we made a point of meeting up with the patrol that was with the mother, just to show her how many cops were there looking for her kid, so she knew we were doing all we could. She was a mess. All I could think was if it was me, I would be destroyed!!

When we looked around I saw how many cops were there, it was amazing. We had motor bike cops in the car parks doing laps looking for him, and cops from about three different Districts had hit the mall. You would have certainly changed your mind if you had planned a good day of shop lifting and showed up this afternoon.

Due to the absolute saturation effect it caused a hell of a buzz through the shops. Every shop owner was searching there stores, and there were regular broadcasts over the PA. I was getting worried that it was not a runaway rahter than a take away job. :nonod:

Luckily it was only about a half hour later and we had found the boy. Hearing that call on the radio was awesome.

I know it was not the most amazing job in the world, but I have always found the most satisfaction from some of the most simplest jobs. Even jobs like this where all I did personally was show a presence to reassure the mother that there was someone there looking for her boy.

It was a good job.

What are some of those jobs that rate fairly low on the whole scale of "what you did" or don't really rate as a good war story to tell your friends but still sit in your heart as a good day at work?

I'm just getting into this whole IPod thing after thinking they're ridiculous for so long, they're actually pretty cool.

Anyone have any good law enforcement podcasts they listen to? I found a couple, but of course I have little knowledge of whether they're junk or not

Or any other podcasts unrelated to law enforcement do you all like?

I like Car Talk and the Dave Ramsey show.
