Hey, I'm 300zx, and I'm into cars obviously.

I have a question though, I just bought a new 300zx after I crashed my previous one, the turbo in my old one blew my engine and my engine decided to suddenly drop and drag on the ground, the tranny flew up through my dash and I hit a tree, fun...
Anyways, what was with my old 300zx is that I had it slammed, well, using bags, and I want to do coilovers but what's the legal ride height and camber limit "I live in Canada", because my previous 300zx was completely dropped on bags and I had around -6 camber in the back and -3 in the front, spaced out 4mm, and I was always hassled about it from cops and other authority, so now I wan't to learn the legal ride height limit and camber limit so I don't have to use bags to stay safe from getting pulled over.

thanks!

Hi there,
I was recently put on Ritalin by my psychiatrist and upon reading about it found out that it is a schedule II narcotic. My concern is that I need to have one dose with me at work (half a pill) because I'm supposed to take two doses a day and don't function well enough to where I'd feel safe to drive after it drops me and am not sure how it would be best to carry it with me. Keeping it in a separate baggy is not a good idea I don't think, but carrying around a bottle with 30 narcotic pills doesn't seem like a safe idea either even if it does have the pharmacy information on it. I have the receipt and other information from the pharmacy that came in the bag as well. I know it's not much, but it's not a subject I'm willing to take any chances on. I'm in Florida if it helps.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to this, you are much appreciated!

I have 2 questions about Craigslist that I'd like to ask officers. I appreciate any responses!

1) I often browse Craigslist in search of odd jobs and to buy used and inexpensive items. Probably everyone is familiar with Craigslist's "personals" section. I've seen some ads that look legitimate, but most ads I see in the Personals sections obviously seem to offer prostitution and similar illegal things. They don't outright say "$$$ for sex", but it is obvious that the poster is advertising sexual services in return for a profit. I'm curious, what are police doing to stop these things from happening? I've seen a lot of the police shows on tv about officers posing to be prostitutes and then arresting the men, but this all happens out on the street. What about through Craigslist? I've always wondered about this. Do police departments have special divisions that tackle problems like this? I've heard of many men being arrested for hiring prostitutes, but I don't hear much about officers pretending to respond to ads on a craigslist and then arresting the prostitute.

2) My first question caused me to do some research on it, and I came across a story about a rape that happened through Craigslist. Basically what happened was an angry ex boyfriend posed as his ex girlfriend, and posted an ad on Craigslist. In the ad, he pretended to be his ex girlfriend and said something like "I'm seeking a man with no regard for women who could fulfill my rape fantasy". The ex boyfriend also posted his ex girlfriends address. Another man saw the post, and came to the house of the ex girlfriend (thinking she was the one who posted all of this), held her at knife point and raped her. All along, he thought she was consenting and was just fulfilling her rape fantasy. He and the ex boyfriend were charged with several crimes.

As sick as a "rape fantasy" is (to me at least...), I can't help but wonder why the man who raped her was charged with rape. The situation is really sick, but he had no idea that she was not consenting. He thought that he was "fulfilling her rape fantasy". My question is, what is the reason why the man was charged? He obviously has some problems since he is turned on by rape, but he thought the girl was consenting. At first thought, I was thinking that the ex boyfriend should be slammed with every possible charge, but he and the man who raped her got almost equal charges. I'm not an officer, however, so I have no clue about these things at all. Could anyone enlighten me?

Thanks for any responses! I appreciate it.

Hello,

Just graduated from college and got a job that will place me in California for 6 months to a year. Moving from out of state and will be taking a car that is registered to my parents. I'm also insured under their policy as a driver.

I know California is a stickler when it comes to registration, but do you think I will be ok without California tags since the vehicle isn't technically mine and I'm just borrowing it?

Also, since I will be establishing residency in California (renting an apartment) will I need to get a CA drivers license?

Thanks

I don't want to work as a probation officer or anything along those lines, but really interested in Cybercrime or anything along that field. Reading the posts here, I am too old for a job in Federal....

My next door neighbor is a quadriplegic and a medical marijuana card holder in Michigan. I had a talk with him a week or so later and let him know that it bothered me that he was smoking it in the backyard with friends when my children were in our pool.(I immediately put up a privacy fence) since then things have gone from bad to worse. He turned his garage into a bar with a big screen tv, pool table, and a deck built off the back of it so they can now look OVER my 6' privacy fence at my children while they smoke pot!! There is a high volume of traffic in and out all day and night and loud drunken parties. I contacted my local drug task force and gave his name to them. I was told that several other neighbors have made complaints and he had been investigated several times recently and that the drug task force team was concerned that he may file harassment charges against them. I have been proactive in this matter and have identified several of the "regulars" that frequent the bar/garage, one of whom absconded from parole on drug trafficking charges (I contacted his PO) and his "caretaker" has been arrested for 2nd degree sexual assault!! What are my options under the law, I do call on the noise ordinance when they have loud parties but the police don't do much as they continue to have loud parties. I can't keep my windows open because of the clouds of pot smoke rolling thru my house, and my kids are subject to drunks screaming the f-bomb at a tv in their garage/bar!! And I live in a quiet, relatively crime free suburb! What are my options to shut down the swarms of riff raff coming over there to smoke pot and get drunk??

So I'm curious to get some officers perspective on this. Let me begin by saying this is not a "legalization" thread, per se.

So I'm curious to get some officers perspective on this. Let me begin by saying this is not a "legalization" thread, per se.

I myself do not smoke marijuana, and have steadfastly opposed it's legalization since my late teenage years. I tried pot a few times in High School - I was unable to think clearly and it made me paranoid... not my cup of tea. That probably has been a factor in my stance over the years. That along with the fact that I viewed it as a gateway drug during my high school years. I saw too many kids progress into cocaine, heroin, ecstasy (sp?), mushrooms, etc - I wanted no part of that.

What has become interesting to me is that the majority opinion seems to be faltering in the case of marijuana. I believe 3 (?) states have now legalized it's use while it still remains illegal on the federal level. Granted these are all left leaning states.

In my current career (which I prefer not to disclose on a public forum) I encounter people from all walks of life. I am surprised by the amount of people who smoke marijuana. Or at least, people I wouldn't suspect: Every day middle class folks with good jobs, kids, and car payments like the rest of us. I see just as many of them as I do your "bottom of the barrel" type folks. This has led me to ponder my anti-marijuana stance.

I'm starting to think that there may be some merit to the "legalize and tax it" argument. This is not to say that I have any intention of actively seeking out and voting for politicians that support legalization, because at this point I do not. It's hard to break from a position I have stood in so firmly.

If it were to be legalized I think it should be treated like alcohol: Must be 21, no driving, "sin taxed", etc. With anything there is potential for abuse. But as we do not consider moderate drinking "alcoholism", would it not be fair to consider moderate use of marijuana the same way? I'm kind of stuck here.

What I would like to hear from you officers is the flip side. You've likely seen more marijuana , it's users, and its effects in a week than I have in a lifetime. Are they hardened criminals? Dumb kids? Or just everyday people? Do you believe it is a gateway drug, or is it merely a fact of life that we will always have a core element of people that will use hard drugs regardless?

Your thoughts and experiences are much appreciated, as I am in a crossroads... and I'd trust your information much more than anything coming out of the the media these days!

This is just a curiosity --

In my line of business, I interact with a lot of engineers and site managers that drive A LOT. As in, 1000 miles a week or more. So, naturally, they all have their stories about how they "got lucky" and didn't get pulled over speeding for this or that reason.

We all know that very few people actually drive EXACTLY the posted speed limit or less. So what goes into determining which speeder gets the fine?

If you're sitting on the side of the freeway with radar running or even out with LIDAR, how do you determine who gets the ticket? Is it just a standard percentage, such as +10% or more over the limit? Do you alter your decision based on traffic conditions (i.e., might not pursue someone in heavy traffic to avoid causing rubbernecking)? Are you actually more drawn to brightly colored cars as insurance companies claim?

I'm not trying to compile a "when can you get away with speeding" list or anything, just curious about the psychology behind determining who amongst a large group of cars has earned the citation!

Seattle City Council Votes to Force Businesses to Hire Criminals

I bet Seattle jewelers are going to start seeing some interesting job applications soon.

The Seattle City Council [Monday] unanimously approved a bill that would prohibit employers from asking about an applicant’s criminal history until after an initial screening. Employers could reject an applicant because of a criminal record, but only if there is a legitimate business reason to do so.

The measure was strongly opposed by some business groups, including the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, which said they didn’t want the city second-guessing their hiring decisions. They also opposed a provision that will allow the city Office of Human Rights to investigate complaints by job applicants who believe they were turned down solely because of their criminal history.

Since the only real defense against a charge of discriminatory hiring is evidence of existing diversity, Seattle companies will have to show that their workplaces are already diverse and consist of a proportional amount of criminals and non-criminals. That will mean a hiring boom for certain classes of “safe” criminals.

Suddenly having a criminal record is something that will make an otherwise undistinguished resume shine.

Hope, change and affirmative action for criminals.
