Question NOLES / Wilderness-EMT

Has anyone ever taken the W-EMT course from NOLES (or know someone who has)?
I'm thinking about taking the upgrade class for current EMTs because it would knock out all my required CEs for the NREMT. Only thing that has me holding back is the cost $625 + hotel for a week = alot.

For those who are wondering about the class I'm thinking about:

I would assume it is a beneficial class if you would use the specialized training conducted. Although I like to fish/camp, I don't think I would be far enough away from civilization to feel the need to go through it. :D

That’s the thing though, at this point and time, it would be more for the CE hours. Having the cert would be nice because if all goes as planned I'd like to get into NPS law enforcement or well anyplace that does LE/EMS/Fire all in one. I want to be as competitive an applicant as I can be and I already have work history and I’m going to school, so certs all that I really see that I can do right now to become more competitive.

If I had the time and cash I'd do it for sure, sounds like a great opportunity to me.

If you're interested in outdoor emergency care and enjoy skiing/boarding, you can get a similar class from your local ski patrol fairly inexpensively. The specialized training is about at an EMT-B standard; a few states recognize it, but many don't, so you'd have to check.
