CHP doesnt have many medics anymore. They only do EMR training in the academy now.

Who do ya think flies in those choppers? ;) As far as I know, though not utilized enough mainly because dispatch/public agencies don't know that they CAN utilize them, they are still around. PLUS- they are "free." Well as free as we pay for them with our taxes! Just had a friend hired on with them as a medic- though she must first go through the motions of the academy and patrol before going to the chopper.
