So I am starting emt school in 2 weeks. WHat can I expect out of emt training? Is it going to be like a high school class were half the class is full of FO's? I will be attending Palm Beach Community in lake worth Fl. i`ve heard a lot of good things about the school. Anyone on here attend there?
If the class begins with any people who don't take it seriously you can be sure it will be smaller at the end. There were two losers out of about 50 students in mine, but both dropped out after the first exam. It is tough, and you have to study, practice and take what you are undertaking seriously. I don't know anything about that school though.
Just finished my EMT training in Pensacola in May, took the NR test (which Hockey thinks is a scam against him personally! LOL) and passed first try.
Just to reiterate what Noel said, if you don't take it 100% seriously, you'll find yourself gone. We started with 26 people and graduated 8. Lost two on the final exam! (Talk about rough!)
Hockey and Noel both hit the nail on the head though, and that's really take to heart what you're learning. You can only memorize so much before you have to start having it make sense 'cause the situations change rapidly and consistently. Believe me, the people you have teaching you probably have a ton of experience, so no matter how good you think you're doing, they can throw a monkey wrench into it and get you digging a huge hole!
Just pay close attention, study like your life (or the lives of those you will be treating) depends on it, because they do.
Can't say anything about that school though, that's well outside my jurisdiction.
Best of luck to you and keep us posted!
