    What just happened to me...

OK I just got REALLY close to calling 911 a few bit ago for the first time ever

I'm sitting here reading some stuff on the computer, and all of a sudden, I get really REALLY sweaty, and really REALLY shaky, and I get really weak feeling.

    I am not a diabetic

I had a bottle of water like a couple hours ago and that was it.

I don't know if I was cold or warm to be honest

I grabbed my phone and tried to get a hold of my fiancee and she doesn't answer so I get a hold of my mom and she was like huh? and wasn't really sure

I've gotten shaky before...but never to this amount. I'm sitting in my air conditioned apartment. It is 65 in here. and I was COVERED in sweat wearing a tshirt and shorts

I thought maybe my sugar and tried to grab something high in sugar and it didn't help out really

So I just laid against my couch on the floor with the a/c blowing on high in front of me and i finally stopped

Like I said...I nearly called 911 for the first time for me...I'm alright now...just can't move real fast

My friend told me its cause the lightning outside (bad storm right now) but I think she was just kidding

Any clues? If it does it again I'm going to the hospital...I can't let that happen if I'm on my own

eat anything recently? Something you normally don't eat, or are not able to see if it's prepared correctly. Not a doc, but some of those symptoms could be food poising. Not being a doc, only other thing I can think of is something neurological. If it's something to do with that it's going to be very hard to diagnose to begin with. I'd try to write down everything your can remember about it. Then go see a doctor for a physical.

I have no clue, but sound serious enough for a physical evaluation. Whatever you do, don't go to WebMD. I am sure if you type in your symptoms, it will say you will be dead in a couple of minutes.:D

I can't give you medical advice, but the transient nature of what you described is very common in stress/anxiety type situations. There's often accompanying heart racing and feeling palpitations...then it passes. I'd suggest seeing your personal doctor to get a cardiac workup, like an EKG.

Often, the fact that it's happening freaks the person out even more, which makes it even worse, and by the time we get there, they're hyperventilation to the point they get involuntary hand and foot contractions (carpal-pedal spasms).

If it happens again, remember to keep yourself calm, lie down to counteract any dizziness/weakness, get some water, etc while you make the decisions about calling 911.

Now that I have some age on me, Pizza can do that to me.

The way I understand it, a very starchy food will affect your Pancreas and make you sweat profusely.

It just happened the other day when I went into Sam's. I ate a pizza slice and started shopping and was sweating like crazy... even though it was like 96 outside.

Of course the red pepper I doused it with may not have helped any....

    Do not take this as medical advice, just as a personal opinion based on what has happened to me;

That sounds like a classic anxiety attack, like the person said above. And since you said you 'just go into it' with your fiance, it may be it.

It can happen to anyone, at anytime, and no, it does not mean your crazy.
    I promise.

I had one...out of the blue, about a month ago that sent me to the Doc's.

I was sitting in my car, and the reality of up-coming surgery hit me..HARD.

It felt like I was having a heart attack, the pain in my chest was THAT BAD.

I sat in my car, with my head on the stearing wheel, sweating, with a massive pain in my chest...palpatations....ect. I told myself, 10 more seconds and I am hitting 911 on my cell...

It subsided and I called my Doc, and got an EKG, stress test...ect.

    My heart is fine.

It was life that hit me upside the head.

These attacks can hit you with no warning...and they do go away. It just becomes a problem when you are afraid to leave the house because of them.

But please...do get checked out. That is the best thing you can do.

    Well I died last night

So this is my ghost typing :p

I think just with the heat and all, I got really dehydrated for some reason

I ended up getting a hold of a ER Doctor I know and he said I really needed to make a sandwhich because more then likely, sugar or something just got low with the heat and everything

I ended up eating and going to lay back down...whole room was dizzy blah blah blah

I feel much better now...all I know is that **** better not happen again...

If you called the ambulance, depending on what the vital signs and additional history were telling me, I would right away suspect one of four things I might want to treat for:
    a. an anxiety attack (yes, they happen even to perfectly stable and normal people without a Hx of mental illness)
    b. you didn't eat enough all day. Some people are more sensitive than othersto blood glucose level shifts even without being diabetic.
    c. dehydration
    d. something else less common that a doctor needs to diagnose and treat.

You know, if you were still on a squad, you could whip out the old blood glucometer and check yourself for fun. You could even give yourself EKG's. I did a 12 lead on myself for practice.....it was normal. It's one of the many benefits of volunteering :D

We'd consider taking you if you think you can get to the station in the 6 minute response time :p

    PS...
    Congrats Red wings!

At least dying helped your typing skills, because the last post before your ghost posted was CRAP!!!

Although that could have been a side affect of your condition...dyslexia. :p

Hope you are feeling better. And whatever went on between you and your fiance, apologise now. Regardless of what it was over, or who you think was at fault. It would be great practice for marriage. :D
