Took my Nat’l Registry Test today.

I have to say it really was as hard as everyone made it out to be. In fact I don’t even have a clue as to rather I passed or not.:confused: The computer stopped me at around the 75-80 question mark. I did real good on my class written test (missed 12 out of 150) and did good on my practical skills.

The bad news is that I don’t get the results for about 2 business days so I have the whole weekend to wait it out:mad:; and to top that off I holding back on sending in an application tell I can say if I do/don’t have my EMT cert.

It's a bear of a test. Cut me off at 70 questions (the minimum), but I passed. They say that the test adapts to how you answer. Typically, if you do really well or really poorly, it cuts off early, since you have proven that you know the material or you don't. If you're average, you're more likely to get the whole 120 questions.

Since you did so well in class, I'd say you're probably in the category that you did really well and it didn't need to test you anymore.

The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians is an organization that tests EMTs and Paramedics. Most states will allow you to take their test in lieu of a state test and others require you to take the National test. Their website is www.nremt.org though it doesn’t really have much on it. As MDEMT said it was real hard, the questions are vague at best and out of the four answers two are nearly the same but one only one is right.

Considering you did so well in the class, and assuming you went though a program of good quality, if it cut you off that quickly (as it did for me, it was over so fast I didn't see how many I had answered, but it was around 70) you were answering mostly difficult questions, which are weighted for more credit than easier ones. So you probably did really well. You can check your status online if you are nervous about it, mine was ready sooner than that, maybe 24 hours, of course it may take longer over a weekend and between two holidays. Your actual national registry card, certificate and official EMT patch takes a little longer, maybe a week or two if I remember correctly. I believe you can print out a receipt online when you get the results too if you want.
