The body gases fill the body cavity up and they float back to the surface when the temperature warms up. I didn't blow chunks but that's the closest I've come to it for a work related thing.
I should say that you do get used to it if you see it enough. Everyone learns to deal with it differently, either by rationalizing that it isn't a person but just an object, or whatever. Everyones a little different. When I was in the CG we used to joke about it a lot to relieve any tension that was there. When I started with the ambulance there were always people around so you couldn't do that and I just tried not to think of them as actual persons although it didn't always help and I did sometimes have dreams and such that disturbed me a little.
