Anything someone here gives you will just be a guess. The actual amount of time will be up to the judge, board, and PO assigned to him.

Were you the victim of the felony domestic assault for which he is going to prison?

I want to be there to support him but instead they are keeping me completly from him and its killing me.

He does not need help. He needs an a$$ whooping and some real life therapy. YOU NEED HELP. YOU NEED COUNSELING.

Any woman who was beat by her husband, which results in jail time, who still wants contact with the man, needs counseling. You have children with a man who laid hands on you, with intent to hurt you. He did not care about you half as much as you say you care about him when he was beating you. And if he did care, he woudl not have beat you to begin with. You don't need him. Your children don't need him. He is not much of a role model for your children and obvioulsy has his priorities messed up as a career felon. You can't "fix" him. You have not been able to help him to date, He needs to fix himself.

The courts keeping him away from you isn not "killing" you.....in fact...it may just save you.

Seek out a counselor and stay away from him. When and if he gets his act together you should re-evaluate. The children will understand when they are older.
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.

    Oh Good Lord, yes!

I suppose you think you do something that makes him hit you, right?

I can't tell you the number of homicides I've been around that started as domestic violence. He's not going to change, he will continue to hit and abuse you and someday he may very well hit you a little harder than he meant to. He'll feel bad and you'll be dead. Happens all the time.

As I said, he's not going to change, you have to.
Apparently, I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with his money than what Barack & Michelle Obama do with mine

If you can't see clearly enough for your own safety.....how about taking the safety of your kids as even more important ?

Oh , you say he won't hit your kids ?

Wouldn't you have said that he wouldn't EVER hit you when you got married ?

I have been to too many domestics in over 25 years as a police officer. I have yet to meet a woman who KNEW that her future husband would ever attack her.

And it doesn't seem to matter about previous domestic violence history either - 'oh yes, I knew he beat his last three girlfriends/wives but he's changed and would Never do that to Me...'
