    Santa Clara County Corrections...

    Hi,

    I'm new to the forum, im currently in the hiring process with Santa Clara County Department Of corrections and wanted to know if any members are currently officers for this department, and that are willing to help me out by giving me tips and help me prepare for the next up coming tests i will be participating in Thanks

    I have never been through an oral for a corrections position but I would only suggest that you stay calm and think a little bit before you actually start to talk. Lots of people open their mouths because they feel that they should be able to answer right away but sometimes a question will catch you off a little or be worded slightly different from what you were expecting. I have done it both ways and thinking for those uncomfortable few seconds really helps even though it doesn't feel good.

    Other than that, basic stuff. Know as much as you can about the job, the boss, the jails, what to expect for a work schedule, promotional stuff, your future plans with the department.
    Just one of many reasons to wear a helmet!
