    Any news from CA Dept of Corrections?

    Is anyone in the hiring process with CDCR now? or has anyone heard any hiring news aside from what is on the website? Thanks for the responses!

    I'm in the background. It's been 60 days yesterday that I've been in the bg. How long have you been in it?

    Just a few weeks. The questionaires just arrived at my references. They are busy filling them up. Does it take that long for backgrounds? Do you know anyone that was shorter?

    It usually takes 90 days. My references received their letters/questionnaires, and about a week later I received a letter that I was having a sgt assigned to my background. I thought I was getting closer to completing my background since my references were being contacted, but a week later I received a letter that I was just now having a sgt assigned to my bg. It's been 60 days since then. Patiently waiting. Maybe we'll be in the same academy. :D

    I applied in May, and took the exam in June, my bg was finally done in Feb. the day after the California Budget was passed. (whew) long wait. I have to do the psych eval in March. Hopefully I will get to the academy by summer. You just have to have patience and another job until it happens.

    I cleared backgrounds last week! I'm waiting for the psych phase of the testing and I'm hoping it comes soon. The next scheduled academy is in May and I'm hoping to get in. That is if it isn't cancelled. :confused:

    SLIDER 12005 did you get picked up for the July academy? How soon after you got your background approved did another step follow?

    I just got my background cleared two weeks ago 10/01/09 and i was contacted last week for a medical eval. They said to be clean shaven (i'm assuming for the gas mask portion).

    Is the psych interview and the medical exam the last 2 steps?
