Average AZ Correction Officer pay w/O.T.

Does anyone know what the average pay of a AZ C.O. pay is per year with an average amount of overtime, and do AZ C.O.'s carry off duty?

Sorry, but no. I have no idea what an average amount of OT is for DOC. Base pay is 33K (certain facilities pay more) after training for someone with no experience. DOC staffing had been hurting for a number of years due to low pay; I don't know what staffing looks like now.

http://www.azcorrections.gov/adc/employment/contact.asp is the addy for recruiters. They should be better able to answer this. I do not know of any ADOC on this site.

COs are not peace officers in the State of Arizona and would not be authorized to carry off duty without a concealed weapons permit. There are "Limited Correctional Peace Officers" who have authority to perform the duties of a peace officer only while employed by and on duty with the Arizona Department of Corrections, and only for the purposes of guarding, transporting, or pursuing persons under the jurisdiction of the Arizona Department of Corrections.
