Just wondering if anyone has confirmed information about the NYC DOC academy. My investigator told me that it starts on January 17th, but i have not heard nothing from her since. I'm just waiting for the call.

Get your facts straight: Corrections is NOT law enforcement, especially in New York City!

NYC Coreections: NY's Boldest??? Should be "NY'S Rejected Perps Employed in Uniform After All Other Agencies Refuse to Hire Most" Very few good NYC CO's. The rest are what they are.

a) Family deaths? Waaaaa! So what? You don't think any of us here had a family death lately? Death is part of life. Deal with it. I have buried two immediate family members in the past year. Should everyone who has had a family member die be given a free ticket to be a CO?
b) Close friends killed? Again, so what? On September 11, 2001, I not only lost several close friends, but I watched them die. Last year I lost three cops to line of duty deaths.

3) Money trouble? Grow up mature. There are THOUSANDS of jobs here in NY and the surrounding area. The problem is most are not willing to work them. Who ants to sling burgers for 8 hours and then make pizza for 8 more. f you were responsible with you money, both spending and saving, you would not ave money problems. Must have been rejected from the NYPD due to the lack of maturity and financial basis.

Additionally, you are not starting any law enforcement career. Better check the NYC Corrections Officer job description. Here it is. I have taken the liberty of underlining and bolding each verb (job task). Please read carefully, I have a tests for you at the end:

2) Where does it say you make arrests?
3) Where does it say you give summonses?

5) What is the difference between the job tasks listed above (underlined/bold) from a NYC school teacher?

You walked right no a door I opened. As I stated, 95% of NY DOC are perps in a uniform rejected by every other city agency. In four lines you showed you were uneducated, have a major chip on your shoulder, offend easy, can't handle stress, have issues with death, can't manage yourself or finances, and have no clue the difference between LE and corrections. If anyone should be keeping their mouth shut, it's not me.
