I have to agree with joey. with exception of maybe 3 CO's I have met the rest are just perps. Just going down to MCB is a nightmare.

NYPD-Start receiving full pay and benefits from your first day of recruit training ($25,100 per annum). Upon the completion of the Police Academy (six months), your annual salary increases to $32,700. Salaries will continue to increase every year and upon completion of 5½ years of service, base salary will increase to $59,588. In addition to these base salaries, there is overtime earning, holiday pay, night differential and uniform allowance.
NYC DOC- Salary increases to $34,742 after six months of service
Salary increases to $63,309 after 5 1/2 years of service
Uniform allowance of $1100 per year
16 paid vacation days, increasing to 27 days after 5 years
11 paid holidays
Longevity pay ranges from $3,545 to $6,545 after 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of service
Great pension plan, with the opportunity to retire after 20 years of service

Feel free to stand up for NYC DOC. There's nothing wrong with people holding high opinions of certain jobs, just as there's nothing wrong with other people holding low opinions of the same jobs. Hell, some people in here even stick up for the F.B.I, of all things.
