Salaries will continue to increase every year and upon completion of 5½ years of service, base salary will increase to $59,588. In addition to these base salaries, there is overtime earning, holiday pay, night differential and uniform allowance.

If you join law enforcement or corrections (which is not law enforcement) for the money, you haven't opened your eyes yet...

Also, did you ever figure out your problem with how to post a new topic. Jeesh, if you can't figure that out, they must take everyone for NYDOC :D

Not true. He is still waiting for his call. He might be waiting awhile. I heard that a couple of dog-sized sewer rats beat him out. They scored better on the written test.:D

This is a discussion site. We don't mind debate, even contentious debate, but let's not start telling other members what they can and cannot say.

Feel free to stand up for NYC DOC. There's nothing wrong with people holding high opinions of certain jobs, just as there's nothing wrong with other people holding low opinions of the same jobs. Hell, some people in here even stick up for the F.B.I, of all things.

Such differences are what keep this place vital and interesting.

I like how the non-LEO, (non CO too) who has been here for a whole of 16 days thinks they get to boss ANYONE around on this forum.

You're going to make a great CO

Um...you obviously did not do yoru homework. MTA Police right here in NY:
    BENEFITS
    Starting salary is $33,000 annually.
Upon completing five years of service, the top pay is $68,781 annually. Future rates of pay are subject to collective bargaining.
Retirement at 1/2 salary after 20 years
    Competitive salary paid weekly
    Comprehensive benefits package
    An annuity fund
    Transportation benefits
    401K & 457 deferred compensation plans
    Tuition reimbursement
Unlimited sick leave with full pay
Uniformed Patrol officers work three 12-hour and 20-minute shifts a week. Every third week officers are required to work a fourth 12-hour and 20-minute shift.

Thus, MTA Police = more money than CO. Thus, being a COP is better than a CO. Now you can go take that walk with you BS. Buh-bye!
-In God we trust. All others, put your hands on the car and don't move.
