    BAT Test

I just took the BAT test for correctional. It's nothing to be afraid of and you really can't study for it. The test consists of about 6 or 7 different areas, like deductive reasoning and memorization. It's completely done on a computer and it takes about 1 1/2 hours although you get 2 hours. Go into the test rested and pay close attention to the questions and answers. I had 104 questions. You have no control of the timing and each question has a different time alloted to it. Use common sense and don't try to overthink the question. Don't think of anything while your taking the test except the test itself. You have no time to stargaze.

    Post deputy of corrections

I took the detention deputy test like two years ago here in florida... I'm not a good test taker... I get extremely nervous, happen to me when I took the asvab for the Navy but eventually passed it... I failed the correctional officer test by a couple points... its not a simple test confusing sometimes but you can do it... have to think posotive and never give up.. I'm retaking my test Monday trying to become a cop or deputy either ore I hear after I've been a detention deputy for 3 years I could transfer to patrol deputy... bout your test most sites have examples of what's going to be on the test for free.. good luck with your test and take care..

The OP in this thread has not logged on since April of 2008, so your advice is in all likelihood wasted here.

I'll close this so it can go back to it's eternal slumber.
