I failed LAPD background due to the fact that I admitted doing stupid things in the past that I never got caught for, will California Department of Corrections look at the background the same and fail me also? Or do they have differant standards?

yes, the P.H.S. has a section in it that asks if a background investigation has ever been conducted, if so who conducted it and the outcome
I've been told the corrections background is just about par in comparison to any of the California departments. But I guess with their starting pay they can be picky. You may want to look at Santa Clara County Department of Corrections. I may be wrong, but I believe it is the only county in the state that does not use deputies as corrections officers. I do know that they are affiliated with the SO and that deputies do work in the jail to investigate crimes that occur inside the facility.
Casualtr, take a look at our "Rap Sheet" section and introduce yourself. We don't bite. I swear.
