The Government has been forced to house more than 45,000 prisoners in police cells under emergency measures to ease the jail overcrowding crisis.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...prisons116.xmlPolice forces receive £385 a night for housing an inmate in a police cell - more than the cost of a suite at The Ritz hotel in London.
What grates about this is that prisoners are now complaining that their human rights have been violated by the lack of the normal facilities (TV, Gym, Food Menu, Etc), and they are being paid compensation.
