    Honors Status/Society

    When applying to an academy or for a job while either pursuing a degree or having a degree, does having honors status or being apart of an honors society help your resume or does it not make much of a difference at all?

    Having a 3.2 gpa or higher for your college degree could get you hired in as a GS7 when I came on (way back when). Then again, so could 2.5 years of LE experience or a Masters degree.

    Haha how long ago was that? I suppose honors can't hurt but would something like that aid in getting a position over someone who is equal to you in all other aspects or do police dept. not really look at that?

    I think it was about 16 years ago or so when I actually applied. I don't think it is terribly different in many part of the fed system these days, though.

    Depends on the agency and their hiring practices, which vary. Being in an honor society certainly won't hurt!
