I love rate my professor. I use it for every professor that I plan on taking. As stated above, it can indeed be hard to judge if only two or three people rated a particular professor but when you have a good 15 or 20 ratings the truth starts to show. I am very honest when I rate my professors on there too. I do understand that many people NEVER go to class and end up getting a C or even worse, and will rate that teacher like they are terrible professors and have no office hours, blah blah blah.
To anybody just getting into college all I can say is to look at the syllabus and see what the current weeks discussion will be about. When you get an opportunity read up about the subject. Professors, primarily Criminal Justice professors absolutely LOVE when you participate.
I simply cannot understand how a whole class can sit there and twiddle their thumbs when the professor asks them a question. I always raise my hand and you better believe that the professors ALWAYS thank me for participating. They hate talking to "corpses."
One thing to remember: Don't take classes simply because you've heard they are very easy or blow off classes. Take classes with professors who are willing and eager to help their students. Take the classes that the professor is available, and has alot of experience in the field. You are the one paying thousands of dollars for the classes, you might as well learn something (instead of taking blow off classes.)
RATE MY PROFESSOR IS AMAZING!!
