Does anyone else hate math? (A rant)

I am sick and tired of taking math classes. I was majoring in Law Enforcement and doing very well till I hit the required statistics class. I bombed it with flying colors along with most of the class. So instead of wasting my money on taking it again I'm getting a Bachelors of Arts degree with an emphasis in Law Enforcement. It's pretty much the same thing but I don't have to take a stats class.

Does anyone else hate stupid math classes? My first day of that stats class the professor said the first thing you will be asked in an interview is "can you crunch numbers?". Sorry for the rant. Feel free to rant with me.

I am too hard headed. I would have taken it again and put every resource I could find into passing.

I see what you mean but I just want to get my degree and start looking for a job. I'm looking at the bigger picture of the degree rather than just the one class that I'll never use or need. I do understand where you are coming from though. I'm only a year away from getting the degree. Give me history, english, political science, anything but math. ;) IMHO

Love it, but only doing honors next year I think after that I'll start AP depending on how hard it is, c'mon stats can't be that bad.

Duly noted. I just signed up for First Aide/CPR and traffic administration instead.

I used to hate it but at work I use trigonometry all the time and it's actually pretty neat.

I was lucky that my high school Calc 2 class satisfied my requirement in college. I had to take 1 math class and took "Using and understanding mathematics." I'm pround to say I got a C after attending only 5 classes.

I remember when calculators first came out (yes, I am that old) and my math teachers would say, "Well, what are you going to do when you need to do some math and you don't have that fancy calculator with you, Mr. Smarty Pants".

I now have a calculator on my desk, a calculator on every computer I have or use, on my phone, on my blackberry, and if I wanted to, I could get a watch with one on it. I ALWAYS have a calculator with me. So there, Mr. White. :D

Do I detect a little "neener-neener" tone when you ended with "So there, Mr. White!"??:D

I took the two classes that were obligitory for my B.S. of CJ too, and they were hard, but somehow I got a B in both of them. Keep plugging away at it.

I dont mind math. The really complicated crap annoys me though. I prefer to keep it simple.. like...

Wow, most everyone on here likes Math. I can balance my checkbook, add, subtract, multiply, divide but I hate equations. Give me history, or political science. Heck, I'll write a 100 page paper before taking another class in stats.
