For the record, I got my AA in CJ taking Business Math, in which the final test consisted of being able to do a 1040-EZ correctly. I hate Math, and I can't see the use of having to take classes in a subject I'd never need. If I decided to launch space shuttles, I'll go back to school.

BTW, from my vantage point now, I don't see the need for a specifically CJ degree, either. If they offerred a class on "BS Interpretation", now THAT would be the degree to get.

I would have to agee with you. I just want a bachelors degree. If I could have done it in underwater basket weaving or female underwear inspector (hotties only), I would have.

High school math is easy, however when I get to Uni I have a feeling I'll be saying something different.

    MATH.com is my homepage....psyche!

For my BA, I was allowed to take "Math for Liberal Arts Majors" in place of my Math credit. Our first day in class we were literally cutting shapes out of pieces of paper. I knew I could handle it after that. It turned out to be a sampling of different areas of Math, e.g. Calculus, Geometry, Statistics, etc. It got a little harder as we progressed, but wasn't too bad at all. I recommend the doing the Summer-Sessions or Mini-Mesters if at all possible.

My father still has the slide rule he received as a present from his parents when he graduated from the Newark College of Engineering in the late 1950's. Apparently there were top of the line slide rules and budget slide rules, and this one cost close to a hundred bucks back then.

I avoided math but my CJ degree required I had to either take micro or macro economics both have math buit after studying the class outline I discovered I could possibly pass the couse by not answering any of the heavy math questions. My prof said it would be very difficult bacause I would have to answer all the other course questions and not miss any. He caught my attention a week after the course was over, I got a B+ but I never answered one math question including the graphing. I got a BS degree top five percent in my class never taking any math course. Not braging it just took more planning, begging, and deal making.

I hate math, and to add, I suck at it. I'm a semester behind, and still confused about some of the equations. I'm in Algebra 1-2 when I should be in 2-1.

With a calculator, I'm actually fairly good at most stuff. On ISTEP (Indiana's crappy statewide testing), they don't always let you use a calculator, so I think I may have not done too well on it.

Calculators are so cheap and portable nowadays that, like Group9, you can have one in your car, house, desk, phone, and computer! Instead of paying $40 dollars for a calculator, I bought a $6 Scientific calc. Works perfectly.

Basic equations are good. Equations with tons of exponents and negative exponents, and long, difficult problems just piss me off.
