Just found out some really bad news.
Earlier this week a classmate of mine called and told me that one of our professors had had a heart attack.
Last night I got a few more calls informing me that he had passed away.
Dr. Vowell was a great professor and my advisor in the graduate program. When I get back home I need to check with the other professor and see if he will take over as my advisor. Our program is pretty small and we only had 2 professors who taught Criminology all the other professors are Sociologists.
This probably means that I'll have to change my topic for my thesis as all my research material was from a study that my previous professor had conducted when he was at Mississippi State; it was/is a really good data set with a great sample size. At least I haven't written my thesis proposal or really started on my thesis. The other CRIM professor is into corrections and I think he’s been looking for a grad student to do a project with some data he has collected. Does that sound as bad as I think it does?
Anyway my advisor was a great teacher and a good friend and I'm going to miss him.
