I am going to graduate in May with a double major BA in Justice Studies (criminal justice) and Psychology and have a 3.8 gpa. Aside from the JS degree do you think employers will really care about he Psych major or the GPA much?

Depends on the agency you are going for.
Many departments see a degree as a box to be checked, so the field or gpa is irrelevant. Others (such as the FBI) look for specific backgrounds, such as a JD, foreign languages or accounting. One major requirement is that the degree be from an accredited school and not from a diploma mill (get your Bachelors in 6 months!).
Good luck and congrats on the *** Laude designation. (Wow, you mean I can't say ***? )

That pretty much sums it up. My MS is in CJ, but my BS is in Psych. I've yet to have one hiring agency see my BS major and say, "Wow! Psychology... we don't get many of those here, and they sure are needed!" Having a degree (regardless of major) is often enough to give you a salary bump or points on your hiring score (if the hiring department uses either of these). Some departments give extra small bonuses for CJ, but most I've seen do not. I've yet to see any particular bonus given for Psychology, as it's just the fact you have a degree that counts in their eyes.

Having a 3.8GPA in Physics or Math would be impressive. A LE agency really cares about having the required credits/degree. Having said that if there are 2 identical candidates but one has a 2.0 and the other a 3.8...
