    Good universities in or near CA?

    Right now I'm attending junior college, but after I am unsure of where I want to go to get my degree in criminal justice. Can you guys reccomend me universities that have good criminal justice programs in or around California? Also, is a criminal justice degree a B.A or a B.S?

    Don't live in or near CA, so I cannot answer your first question, but this one I can.

    BA = bachelor of arts
    BS = bachelor of science

    Any degree major can be either a BA or BS (including Criminal Justice). What seperates the two is the amount of fine arts (art, language, theatre, etc.) classes you take for general eduation/elective versus the amount of math/science classes you take. If you take more art courses in your curriculum, you get a BA. If you take more science/math courses, you get a BS. At the end of the day, both are still a bachelor's degree in whatever field you major in.

    Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.

    CSULA and CSULB are both affordable schools with great CJ programs in LA county. I've noticed that UCs in the LA/Orange area don't offer CJ programs and if they do it's in criminology or administration of justice

    San Jose State and Sacramento State have great JS/AJ programs if you're looking a bit further north. Both universities also have great student cadet programs.
