As an adjunct instructor in Fire Science at a community college, I quit requiring papers. They were so...can I say junk...that I turned myself into an English teacher.

Unfortunately, our accreditors would never let that fly. We're limited in the "hands-on" activities in distance ed, so a lot more is focused on writing and reading material. You'd think it would attract more learned students who are more geared to do well in writing analytical reports... but you'd be wrong (or at least very surprised at the reality).

Actually, she has a point. See, if it wasn't for lighthouses in history, ships would have never made it safely to their destination in rough dark seas. This would have resulted in a lot of lives lost and families torn apart. The end result would be law enforcement would be called out to support the search/recovery. Also it would result in the cause of the great emotional response, families would fight. That is how it would relate to law enforcement. Maybe you should have thought twice about making this girl look bad

In my college they give Criminal Justice students extra credit in History for working in a Museum of History, but no CJ extra credit for internship at a Police Station, even though the Dallas police have an internship program which I can't get in unless the college offers extra credit for it.

I doubt it. ;) Remember, I work in this profession full-time, for two seperate colleges. I'd be shocked if I was shocked by anything posted in a college online class anymore.
