Good summary of what a master degree is like. Most fully accredited MPA courses will require at least one research methods, sometimes two. Tons of theory, and tons of work.

I'm glad I got it, and had it not been for my internships I wouldn't be where I am today, but a lot of the classes I took were boring to me personally. Others who enjoy the theory side of criminology may like it.

My program is like this as well. I don't have a problem with the research methods or the Theory but the stats kicks my butt!!

B.S. Pure Mathematics, probably fairly useless except for the statistics.

4 years military analyst, acquisition officer. 19 weeks training in the great state of Alabama!

Only ever took 1 CJ course as the program at my school was a glorified Political Science degree at the time. Wished I would have gotten a degree in Finance.

No wonder you hang around Norm so much. You had four years of the 'tough schist' and 'you breccia' jokes! They were driving me nuts during my two semesters of science credits. Geologists are a very strange bunch. :p

hey endlessecko... How was the criminal justice program for the master's program ? How was the workload ? A lot of readings ? What school did u go to in order to obtain your master's degree ? Did you go full time or part time in school ? Most likely part time, but how many classes did you take a semester ? I'm just asking because im interested in getting my master's degree in criminal justice.

    Thanks
