OK so each class you are taught is 3-4 credits per hour? So you'd only need to study for like 40 hours to get a Bachelors?! That can't be right!!Originally Posted by ROS

For each hour of class it's advise to study 2-3 hours, so for a 130-credit hour program taught on the semester system, you'd be putting in close to 260-390 hours of study before you graduate.

Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice.
So if you did 40 hour weeks you could get a Bachelors degree in 10 weeks!!
My degree was 28 hours a week in class for 3 years with an advised 25-30 hours per week of private study. Different curriculums I guess, I might take a few weeks off of work and pop over to get a quick degree ;)

The total amount of credit hours I can earn for that semester, with the classes I have enrolled for is 17. 120-17, - next semester, - next semester, etc.
I don't think the numbers are translating correctly. A bachelor's degree generally takes 4 years to complete if you are a full-time student (taking 9 + hours per semester or 12+ hours per quarter, depending on the system). It is not possible to finish a degree in 10 weeks, because each course lasts for an entire semester or quarter, which generally last for 3 - 5 months. Just because a class is 3-credit hours doesn't mean you literally sit in the class for 3 hours and you're done. Instead, you sit in the classroom for 3 hours each week. Multiply that number by the number of weeks in the semester/quarter, and you have the actual "contact hours" sat in a particular course.Originally Posted by MetPC
So you see, it not only implausible, it's impossible to finish a bachelor's degree in just 10 weeks.

I teach at a community college. We meet 3 hours a week for 15 weeks, and they get 3 credit hours.
Sorry - I got lost in translation!!! I am relieved though, I was beginning to feel a little cheated:D I guess I failed the basic reading comprehension and addition elective:rolleyes:Originally Posted by ROS

I have a BS in Criminal Justice. I am hoping to start my Master's in either Public Administration or Management Science next year.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies. Soon (hopefully) I will be going for my Master's degree in Public Administration.

I took a few college courses but not enough to actually lay claim to any kind of degree.
I also have an upcoming offer to branch out into another specialty requiring significant additional training.
Phew, I was thinking my parents might ask for a refund for 3 and a half years if that was true.Originally Posted by ROS

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Bachelors and masters in sociology. All obtained after I became a cop.
I guess since others are adding extra, 6 years military including Officer Candidate School.
Also an aborted attempt at a masters in Public Administration. Realized I was sick of school by then and only went one year.
And three years of vacation bible school when I was a kid....
High School, 33 college credits, and a year and a half dispatching.
This time next year I'll have my AS completed. Not too fond of school, though. Prefer to work. Guess I'll see how I feel this time next year and decide if that's enough for me.
